If you speak before you think about what you’re going to say, you do not take the time to consider what words you will use, what these words will mean to another person, or how they will feel about what you’re saying.
It is easy to say something and not realize you are affecting someone near you. You can easily offend someone's race, religion, medical disorder, etc. You may intend the comment to be a joke or directed to someone else, but you never know when it is going to offend somebody and lead to bigger problems.
